Disability and ethnicity pay gap reporting framework
The UK government plans to introduce mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting for large employers as part of the Equality (Race and Disability) Bill. The government has published a consultation, seeking feedback from employers on how to implement an effective ethnicity and disability reporting framework, which is open for employer feedback until 10 June 2025.
The proposed framework largely replicates that already in place for gender pay reporting, with a few additional burdens on employers due to privacy rights concerns associated with data collection of this nature as well as a proposed requirement for employers to implement an 'action plan' if significant gaps are identified.
