Consultation on miscellaneous amendments to sentencing guidelines

The Sentencing Council has opened consultation until 27 November 2024, seeking views on a series of proposed changes to existing guidelines in the fourth annual miscellaneous amendments consultation.

The Council has large body of sentencing guidelines and accompanying materials that are in use in courts throughout England and Wales. These guidelines have been reviewed as part of an annual review and consultation process on proposed changes, which aim to bring more clarity and consistency, and to also reflect recent developments in legislation and case law.

The sentencing of Very Large Organisations has been a problematic issue in Health & Safety and Environmental matters so the outcome of this consultation will of great interest to everyone involved in those fields.
