Can you tell us about your role?
If truth be told, I am currently curating my pathway towards obsolescence. For 30+ years, I was involved in proper legal work, as a Partner in the Construction team based in Bristol. However, about five years ago, my focus changed. Although I still do some claims, I now mostly concentrate on more creative tasks, such as the podcast. As a result, I am having a lot more fun and, when I retire, I will leave with a smile on my face.
How would you describe the podcast to someone who's never heard it?
It is called Insurance Covered and our aim is to cover anything and everything to do with insurance. Of course, almost every aspect of modern life is insured, which means that the podcast is really about the essence of life itself. Well, that's how I sell it, but no-one believes me. They hear the word “insurance” and immediately zone out. But they are wrong to believe insurance is boring. It is as essential to the modern world as air, water and toilet paper.
